SINGAPORE: Police conducted a 12-hour sweep of Orchard Road, Geylang and St James Power Station on Friday, and arrested 175 people suspected of various crimes.

The multi-agency operation, which was led by the Criminal Investigation Department, involved about 400 officers.

Eighty-four of those arrested were men and 91 were women. They were arrested for offences related to gang activities, illegal employment, disorderly behaviour and sale of contraband cigarettes.

Fire safety violations were also detected.

Generally this type of major sweeps are conducted bout 2 times a yr. More if have major international event. After that everything back to normal.

I was driving my PRC gal around and drove to Orchard Towers last night, because we heard that there are many FLs there too....

To our surprise we saw gals lining outside the Orchard Towers just like the lorongs of Gland !!!!

Upon further examinations, we realised the police had rounded the ladies and it was really massive .... !!! Police made them line-up one straight line macham like school kids falling in for recess. There were Viets, Thais, Filipinos and possibly PRCs as well. 1 Big Blue Police Bus also not even the fetch them back... they had to call for more reinforcement buses !!!

Headed back to Gland !! and it was dead quiet... Just a few white card holders, whom dont give any face to the matas, still standing around.

These type of operations really not good for us, consumers.

Maybe do 1 year one time good enough ! If not, supply will be greatly compromised !!!
