For me, I just came back from Krabi 2 months ago.
Stayed in the heart of Ao Nang.
Hope you are staying there too, as it's the most happening place.

Massage places - plenty, but I can't tell if they really provide more.
Hope you can find some good hangout places.

I second that.

More suitable for couple and staying around the beach resorts.

Got to go to Aonang. It's called Centerpoint just beside Burger King

Few pubs and bars there including a Ladyboy show

Not much action in Krabi

Thanks Pak etct88/S.B.Y.1. and Khun BlueDragon193 for the feedback.

Actually utilising Krabi Airport that's why have to drop by Krabi.
I know Krabi is more for BYO romantic trip only. :p

By the way left Dannok and having rest and recuperation in Hatyai City now.

After 2 days feel so relax in Thailand already.
Have to switch from the China hostile lifestyle and adjust to the sabai sabai and jai yen yen lifestyle here.

Dannok and Bangkok still the best for me lah. :D

I believe there're no comprehensive reports on Krabi and what you're about to read are from a full time cheongster's point of view.

If you're looking for hassle free action you can forget about Krabi and stop reading now. Albeit some action still can be found if you read the whole report.

13:30hrs
Made my way from Hatyai Bus Terminal to Krabi Town (THB186 one way). Duration 5 hours. Too many stops along the way.

19:00hrs
Took a Songthaew from Krabi Town to Ao Nang (THB60) for land survey.

20:00hrs
Arrived Ao Nang and using McDonald's as landmark. Ao Nang is a family orientated beach town. Expensive food just like Phuket. Beer bars can be found at RCA (diagonally opposite Mcdonald's).

Like Phuket, Ao Nang is infested with Caucasian tourists. Many hot Eastern European SYT tourists along the street though.

Thousands of years ago Sun Tzi wrote that if you're in an unfamiliar territory always use the expertise of a local guide. Using my Thai diplomatic price negotiation skills cultivated over the years I've managed to harvest some good intel plus Airport one way transfer from a friendly Songthaew driver.

Take note after 22:00hrs taxi and tuk tuk will charge higher price to Krabi Town. Car pool with another 2 farangs and I paid THB250. Taxi will cost THB600 and up! Price is rigged.

The real action is in Krabi Town mostly on Maharaj Road and vicinity. He gave a thumbs up for Number 1 Coyote Club and pointed out to me of some small neighbourhood KTVs along the way to Krabi Airport. Keep bitching to me as he has two kids already so cannnot cheong much!

Conclusion: Krabi is not a must do place and cheonging is not cheaper and convenient if compared to Bangkok. As cheonging is my full time job that's why I can check out many places. This report is mainly for my good friends on this forum.

Side Note: Songthaew driver re-affirms my intel from Thai friends and bro Snipeshot88 that Vientaine, Laos is not bad. Puying dek (young girl). :D Will check out in Feb 2014.

Also would like to wish all bros a Happy Chinese New Year!

Transportation wise it's cheaper to rent a scooter/motorbike which
cost 200Thb for 24 hours from hotels or street vendors

That is provided samsters here able to ride one but if can't then
it's good to learn doing so.

Kena scolded by Pak etct88 by WhatsApp! :(

"Warn you oredi. Told you don't go. You want to go. What to do, don't believe old man."

"Now have another clown want to go, told him don't waste time and money, but he still want to go. Same age."

Who is this clown?
I know him? :D

Gents,

sidetrack abit.. is it cheaper if i book the hotels at those Tour Agencies in Krabi or through Agoda.com?

I know Hatyai is cheaper via Tour Agencies.. not sure if it is the same for Krabi, Ao-nang...
Hopefully someone can assist! will be travelling from 1st April to 5th April.

Any updates on Krabi?

Is this place similar to Phuket in terms of cheong places like bars, massage parlour? Any soapy here?

If your reason is to go cheonging, then forget Krabi.

Phuket is already bad enough in terms of pricing and quality/quantity versus Bangkok, Pattaya etc and Krabi is worse. And as far as I know, no soapies, at least not as we know them to be in other places.

But if you plan other regular tourist pursuits, then yes, Krabi is nice - much like Phuket being good for a bit of everything.

Just IMHO
SEAJ

Thanks bro for the advice. :D
