From my conversation with one Gojek last year, many signed up with Gojek and Grab after being laid off from their jobs in factory. So, yup, may not be part timers but new to the drivers job. Hence unfamiliar with routes and destinations etc and a lot don't know how to use Google Map for routes.
Maybe those private taxis, on seeing how low the tariff is and not knowing about the bonus system, decide not to sign up. After all, they have been having it good for soooo long.
