If kena Herpes, actually there are some articles online that suggest it could have been acquired prior to the marriage / relationship, and that it was dormant for years, only suddenly presenting symptoms
I believe it is a known fact that many with Herpes do not show symptoms, so above could be one way to explain away Herpes
(versus something like chlamydia / gonorrhoea which almost surely means infidelity)
