Most comments are actually not slamming him for looking for a free fuck. It's perfectly understandable that men are always looking for a fuck, and ideally not have to pay for it.
It's his attempt to play the pity card.
And trying to justify his actions by pushing the blame on to the wife which is exactly what he was doing. That is ... good manners?
He wanted practical advice: very few women are in the business of giving pity fucks which makes the odds of getting one very, very long indeed.
