This is a real bend over backwards by sgp. We have nothing to more to gain than is the current system and will only lose with visa free.

Real tourist can still easily get visa into singapore. And china have more than enough new girls to replace those whose visas are rejected for repeat visits

The other limit is the number of flights between China and Singapore. Singapore can adjust this according to future scenarios. The bold bit you mentioned is probably the only saving grace about SG "throwing open the doors" to PRC Tiongs. Nowadays even if they want to leave mainland China to travel, many also find it difficult either because no money or no passport. The 2+ years of Covid restrictions really fucked them over 9696, imagine last time when Sinkies finally could travel again without needing quarantining upon return or any other travel restriction nonsense how ICA basically crashed due to overwhelming demand for passport renewals. China case is x1000 now.

It is a different china now, they will want their citizens to leave and not remain in china. Passports loosening will be inevitable. Economy is screwed, unemployment rate up and up.

For me, I don't mind if more prcs comes in and the scene has a lot more of them.
Thailand is fked with tourists, esp with the latest news that a taiwanese tourist died after a hospital refused emergency treatment.

I think what you pointed out on malaysia and thailand waiving visa had a knock on effect on sgp's waiver. If we continue to hold, will look as if we do not care, and the trickle down effect can be detrimental further down the line.

But I do think there will be a obvious increase in the months after the waiver is implemented.
If even a conservative 0.00005% of their population gets a passport to come here for "activities", that is still 70k.
