How does SBF's point/power system work?

I was zapped to -5 from 20 points & now revived to 8 points. I don't know what I did at all? Also, how does one achieve "power" to up others?

Join as a premium member - straight away 200 pts given to u up front! No Qs will be asked and Boss Sam give u a rep power of 1 to zap ppl 1 pt and upz ppl 2 pts.
